Before we get to Claire’s birthday celebrations, we need to recap all the things that have taken place in the last few weeks.
We left OBX and drove up to Ocean City, NJ.
We were there for a day before driving to the airport where we flew home to Iowa for a couple days. Our annual church parade was that week, and we didn’t really want to miss it, because we look forward to it every year! 
As usual, we had a great time handing out thousands of pieces of candy as well as containers of honey, magnets, and pamphlets describing God’s unending love.
We even won first place this year! 
Early the next morning we headed back to the airport, met up with our nephew Jacob in Philly, and went back down the shore to officially start our Ocean City vacation.
