One of the best things about Ocean City are the boardwalk rides. I loved them when I was little, and my kids love them now. Unfortunately, this year they weren’t able to open due to COVID. We were still having a great time doing other things, but we were all missing the loud, chaotic, joy-filled evenings spent in Playland. Thankfully, the governor of NJ decided to allow them to open at 50% capacity two days before we left, and we managed to get in. Honestly, the place has never been cleaner. They wiped everything down after each ride, and every few rides a guy with a heavy-duty cleaning backpack came along and sprayed the entire thing. There were hand sanitizers everywhere you looked, and a lot less people than normal. We stayed until dark and did every ride the kids wanted to go on. It was loud, kids were wild, masks were hot, but it was so much fun. 
Social distancing at it’s finest. 
And of course there was more beaching…
And in summer, even a rain shower is incredibly fun.
