We decided to do something different for spring break this year and trade in our usual beach/ocean scene for mountains and cacti.
Because last year’s spring break trip with the Smiths was so much fun, we decided to do it again. They flew into Phoenix before us, picked up our big old vehicle for the week, grabbed some groceries, and then came back to the airport to pick us up.
It was dinnertime when we arrived, and we found this random Italian restaurant on the way to our rental house. It ended up being some of the best Italian food we had ever eaten. In fact, we ordered food from there two more times during our stay. Were our children playing with the large menus while we waited? Yes, yes they were. But did not one, not two, but THREE people tell us how well behaved our children were while we were eating?? They sure did. Good thing those people missed the menu fights before dinner.
We checked out our amazing house and got all settled in for the night.
The next morning was sunny and warm. We discovered several orange trees on the property as well as a juicer, so we enjoyed freshly squeezed orange juice every morning!
We loaded up into our vehicle and headed to Sedona for the day. We put many, many miles on this van.
Our first stop in Sedona? The only McDonalds that doesn’t have Golden Arches. 🤦🏽♀️ But at least it had a gorgeous view!
We headed to the Sedona Airport Loop Trail, which gives beautiful views of Sedona. It was just the right amount of hiking for these little legs.
The views most certainly did not disappoint. And we couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful day!
After our hike we headed to our next adventure: A Cliffhanger Hummer Tour.
This is Barbara.
And this is Barbara’s driver, Jake. Jake was very funny.
We sure did hang on cliffs and drive over boulders, but thankfully Barbara brought us back in one piece and we had a great time!
We figured we deserved some ice cream after all that excitement.
We ended the day with swimming, burgers, and more beautiful views.
Was Tess a bit nervous driving on Barbara? Looks like an awesome first two days!!
Love the colors of Sedona! A must see place
