Jessica & Michael

Several months ago, our friend Jessica approached me with the idea of having her wedding reception in our backyard, and told me to think about and get back to her with my honest thoughts.

I texted her from the car, approximately 3.5 seconds after she asked me to think about it. I’ve envisioned having a wedding or wedding reception in my backyard for years now, and couldn’t believe that someone was actually willing to let me do it.  Unfortunately, we did have Covid to work around, but Jessica did a fantastic job of that by assigning people specific times to arrive so that everyone was able to spread out.

Jessica and Michael were actually married a few weeks ago, but decided to have a small, intimate, immediate-family-only ceremony.  This reception allowed extended family and friends to celebrate them as well.

For weeks I prayed for good weather, healthy people, and everything to go smoothly.  God answered each and every prayer and blessed us with a truly incredible evening. Every event should have a coffee truck. I ordered the garland from Sam’s Club, and the flowers from Fifty Flowers.  All other decor were items I already had, borrowed from the caterer, or found in the great outdoors.  

This truly was a wonderful evening, and turned out better than we had even hoped.  Jessica and Michael, thank you so much for letting us be a part of your special day!  Currently accepting applications for a wedding reception for the summer of 2021.😏
