Our weekend had it’s usual events: horse back riding, swimming, friends, and also…..a tornado.
The sky started looking pretty weird Friday afternoon. Our phones alerted us to a tornado warning one town over, so we were keeping a close eye outside. Winds were swirling in opposite directions, and then we watched the tornado form.
It wasn’t coming at us, so we kept watching because it really was incredible. Grace was really scared, so I got her, Claire, and Tess settled in the basement and assured them the tornado wasn’t coming at us before heading back outside to keep watching. Max was nervous, but also grabbed his ipad to take pictures. After it passed, Ben joined the storm chasers to see if it damaged his fields.
Thankfully only corn was hurt.
Grace’s friend Lydia came over on Saturday and they played and played and played, stopped for some fashionable swimming,
and then played and played some more.
Thanks to all the recent rain, the river had a very fast moving current this weekend. So of course the kids thought it would be fun to jump in it. But, safety first.

Never have liked storms! After Grace and her friend played and played and played I am sure they were tired and slept well that night!
