The next stop in our travels was Lancaster, PA-which is where our family first began. We stayed at the same resort where we got married, and were able to show the kids right where everything happened. This is us on the eve of our wedding day, and here we are standing in the exact same spot 15 years later.
Just two young kids about to embark on the greatest journey of all time.
And now coming back with the travelers we’ve created along the way.😉 It’s been an amazing 15 years, and I’m so thankful for a spouse who loves our family (and all my crazy) as much as he does!
The resort had a craft room, and the kids made “galaxy bottles” before heading to the pool.
I came across this picture from the day after our wedding, which was also the first day they opened this pool area! That cute little boy on the far left is getting married exactly two weeks from today. 😳
After swimming and naps for the little people, we headed to see “Jesus” at the Sight and Sound theater.
The show was AMAZING.
It was 2 1/2 hours long with a 20 minute intermission…and these kids did spectacular. Grace got a little nervous during the storms, and Tessa would occasionally say “all done”, but overall they were wonderful! The stage is so bright and busy, and live animals were walking right next to us, so there was a lot for their little eyes to look at.
I really enjoyed how they portrayed Jesus- as a man who was both completely human and completely God. He experienced joy, sadness, laughter, anger, and pain just like us. But His pain was so much greater than ours, and to think that He endured all of it for us is so overwhelming. I’m so thankful for a coming day when I can praise Him forever for the sacrifice He made to save me from my sins.
We’ll be back, Lancaster!
