Here’s what’s happening with the Fab Four lately…
The place where Claire rides horses had a foal-boom recently. Their owner wants Claire to come ride them when they’re ready, as she’s the perfect size. She’s ok with that plan. She is loving hockey season, and also loves running as fast as she can in PE- which is actually pretty fast.
We recently had some one-on-one time and it was pretty fantastic. I’m still in disbelief that I have a kid this old.
Max is anxiously waiting for track season to start. He’s been practicing jumping over hurdles in the basement (I didn’t think he stood a chance at making it over a hurdle with his *ahem* lack of height, but he proved me waaaay wrong). He also got a pull up bar for Christmas, so he’s constantly beating his own record for pull ups. He’s enjoying school a little more, and especially loves when the high school boys come into his study hall and ask him to come play a game in their PE class. He also loves playing on his xbox with his cousin Jacob.
Grace is taking piano lessons and loves them. I’m hoping she’ll stick with it, because I would love for someone to actually make nice music from this instrument instead of it just being a decorative piece.
Grace has a big friend group, and they’ve been having lots of birthday parties recently. This party was a mother/daughter painting party, and it was so. much. fun. Look how cute those snowman signs turned out! She’s going to a bowling birthday party this Friday- girlfriend’s social schedule puts mine to shame.
Tessa is loving life in kindergarten. She talks the whole way home (well, when she manages to squeeze in a sentence or two when Grace takes a breath) about all the things she learned that day (including holding puppies!). She’s at the sponge-age, where she’s just soaks everything up. And thanks to all the snow covering the ground at recess, her backpack isn’t full of sticks, leaves, and rocks when she comes home.
So exciting for Claire and the ponies!
