Day 3 was our longest drive to the Grand Canyon. But it was another beautiful drive, with totally different landscape!
We made a pit stop on the way at Bearizona, and it exceeded our expectations.
We drove through the first part, and saw lots of different animals.
Then we walked through another part and saw even more.
This was one of Tessa’s favorite parts of the entire trip:
Sure, that jaguar probably wanted to rip her arms right off and have her for lunch, but Tessa thought she was playing with her and it was the cutest thing ever.
We loaded back up in the van, and had lunch on the way to our next destination:
We started out on Bright Angel Trailhead, but after going a little ways down and noticing packed down snow/ice and other hikers slipping and sliding in some parts, we quickly aborted that mission and headed back up to the much safer Rim Trail.
This trail was much more to our liking, and offered plenty of incredible canyon views.
Just two moms carrying all the things and constantly telling our sons to BACK UP FROM THE EDGE. 😬
He just could not help himself.
We hiked along the trail for about 4 miles. It was a lot of walking for the little girls but they did such a great job!
Happy parents at the end because we viewed the Grand Canyon without losing any children in the process.
Grace could sure use a hair cut 😳
Such an awesome, fun filled day! Love the verse you saw on your hike. I bet there’s no better way to describe it.
