Max, our resident history lover, was very excited to visit Pearl Harbor.
So many signs to read, so little time.
If you saw a park ranger and told them 2 facts about Pearl Harbor, you earned a junior park ranger badge. Claire was not interested in telling someone facts about Pearl Harbor.
We had booked a tour that included a bus ride to/from our resort, time to wander around Pearl Harbor at your own pace, and then a tour through downtown Honolulu.
We all loved it! Our guide was great, and we learned so many interesting facts from him.
When the tour was finished, we headed across the street to grab an early dinner.
The food was great, but this flaming churro cart definitely stole the show (another awesome recommendation Jordan! 🤩).
We then swam until dark and enjoyed another beautiful sunset.
Followed by a bedtime ukulele show (while also wondering why we agreed to the ukuleles?!).
The following day we were switching resorts, so we decided to rent a car and head out for the day. We visited the Dole Plantation, which was very hot, but thankfully the Dole whip was very refreshing.
We then headed to Waikiki to walk around and eat at Duke’s.
Then it was time to check in to our room at Disney’s Aulani resort, which is next door to our previous resort. The Ko Olina area on Oahu is definitely our favorite.
We got all settled in and headed down for some evening swimming.
Our church, the Gospel Hall, has locations all over the world that we are affiliated with. We’ve been to the one on Oahu every time we’ve been there, so we were so excited to see our friends Keith and Kate on Sunday.
Our kids loved making new Hawaiian friends, who were very generous with their collection of ride-on toys.
Then it was back to Aulani for swimming and shave ice.
And a late night hang with Pluto and Donald Duck.
