Tess loves kitties, so I was fully anticipating a kitty-themed birthday party this year. But she threw me for a loop and decided on Barbie mermaid instead. Which probably worked out better since it was a pool party.
Last night going to bed as a four year old. 😭
She was the first one up by a long shot, and ready to get her party on.
But first, donuts.
The kids all shopped their own things for Tess, which I love. And then she got the unicorn bubble wand and kitty bike helmet that she has been asking for EVERY TIME we went to Target. Which is a lot.
The bike helmet goes everywhere- swings, car, baseball games, strawberry picking…you name it.
We set up a few things for her party and assembled the grazing boxes for lunch.
Have you seen these all over pinterest/IG? They are adorable and genius. I bought these boxes on Amazon.
We got our suits and sunscreen on and waited for her party guests to arrive. It was sunny and 96-a perfect day for swimming.
We ate, opened presents, played with balloons, hit a pinata, and sang from the pool. Tess loved every minute.
She had been asking me to “snuggle and watch Barbie and the Lost Birthday on your bed” for a few days, so I told her we would do it after her party. And sure, I may have dozed off from time to time, but she still told me it was her favorite part of the day. 💕
Tomorrow we’re heading to MA and NJ for a few weeks, so we’ll see you back here in July!
Best birthday every! Can’t get over how much older she looks. I think cuddling and watching a movie would be my favorite part too ❤️

Hi! I actually made it out of foam poster board. 😊 It’s called a balloon mosaic, and you can find plans on how to make them on Etsy! It was really easy!
Ummm… this whole thing is adorable. I LOVE the grazing boxes!! What a fun idea- and yours, of course, looked beautiful! The kitty bike helmet is the best… and love the snuggle in bed at the end of the day❤️
