Last week Max’s class performed 3 short plays. Their teacher did such a great job with the entire event: they were asked to come with accessories to make them feel like a celebrity the day of the performances because they were going to walk the red carpet. Max decided to go with Grace’s new light up sunglasses that she got as a fundraiser prize. They were perfect. His teacher had people stationed at certain spots with a flash camera, and the kids would stop and pose. Max was the calm and cool celebrity, who acts like he’s above it all but secretly loved every second.
Here’s a brief video of him during the play: https://dwellinginhisrichness.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/11/IMG_2584.mov
He knew all his lines and even got into his character- which I couldn’t believe! This kid is completely stone faced during any performance on stage. But he actually enjoyed himself in this play. It was adorable. He then danced his way back onto the stage for his final bow at the end. With his light up glasses on, of course. When it was over, his teacher had the students sit on the stage so we could have them autograph our programs. Claire’s class was at the play too, so she hurried up to get his autograph along with us.
Max’s teacher this year is all about experiences and learning in non-traditional ways, and I love it. Max does too, which makes it even better.
