Our weather has been amazinggggggg. I mean, except for the fact that we haven’t had rain in weeks and the crops could probably use some. Besides that little predicament, we are loving being outside all the time. We needed to add a few more vegetables to the garden, so after hitting up a grad party we spent some time there Friday evening.
Saturday involved some chores, another grad party, and pool time.
My friend Becky sent me this picture and asked if Ben and I were interested in checking it out with them.
I love a good food truck, and I definitely love loaded nachos, so of course we were in. We all just assumed it was in the cute little downtown area.
Spoiler alert: it wasn’t. It was on a random farm in a machine shed.
We were all a bit skeptical, especially when we pulled up and there were bounce houses and portapotties….but we were also really hungry and the food smelled amazing. Oh, and it was free. Like, 100%, completely free with no strings attached.
So we set up our chairs next to some grain bins and ordered our free food.
And it was so, so good.
And then we sat around and chatted with the guy who won the show on Netflix. He’s from Iowa, has been doing BBQ his entire life, and started a food truck with his wife about 15 years ago. He gave us all bottles of his seasonings and was just fun to be around.
So our unusual redneck party ended up being so much fun, and we can’t wait to find our next random location for date night.

On Sunday afternoon the kids went outside and heard people calling their name from the river. Their friends were out there with their families, and decided to come up for a swim. And nothing is more exciting than a surprise play date.
