Usually we hold our annual Sunday school picnic in a park with a themed celebration and multiple game stations. This year we switched it up and rented the pool.
And it was absolutely fantastic.
Here’s the crazy part: we had the pool for two hours on Saturday morning. The entire day on Saturday was cloudy and cool, except for one hour and 40 minutes. And that one hour and 40 minutes of warmth and sunshine just so happened to be during the time we were at the pool. God is pretty amazing, isn’t He?
The kids had so much fun sliding, diving, jumping, and racing.
The high dive was definitely a favorite. I lost count of how many times Max cannon balled/flipped/dove off of that thing.
Naturally, Ben had to have a competition of sorts. Kids (and adults) competed for the biggest splash, smallest splash, best dive, and fastest swimmer. And they had a cheering crowd of spectators.
Jeff won biggest splash by a landslide.
We enjoyed some pizza, then walked to a park for a lesson and playground time.
I’m thinking the pool is a good idea for next year’s picnic too.
