My dad retired a few weeks ago. He loves driving tractors, and since we have just a few of those hanging around, he and my mom decided to come out here in the spring and fall so he can assist Ben on the farm. We had been talking about how useful a kitchenette would be in our basement for parties and company, and thought now was the perfect time to do it.
Our basement is a walkout, so it has it’s own entrance to our backyard.
There’s a bedroom and bathroom in this area, and then an open foyer area where we had our elliptical machine.
We moved the elliptical, and I ripped out some cabinets from our laundry room that I had planned on replacing with lockers some day.
They were in perfect shape, and I found a similar sink base cabinet at Home Depot.
After some sanding, priming, painting and a new butcher block countertop, we had the perfect little kitchenette.
We need to finish the toe kick and add some shelves, but we all love it so far.
And my parents can just shut these doors when the kids are being loud and crazy. 😉

That is SO cute and SO perfect! Also, obsessed with the color, great choice! Floating shelves will be a perfect addition.
