What we’re eating this week:
Well, we had our back to school brinner this week, and the rest of the week will be easy meals because it’s BUSY and it’s HOT: burgers & hot dogs, tacos, grilled chicken and pizza.
What I’m reminiscing about:
Back to school last year, when Covid-19 wasn’t even heard of and face masks weren’t required.
What I’m loving:
The Fit52 app by Carrie Underwood. I love the exercises and I love the unique concept.
What we’ve been up to:
Hanging on to summer.
What I’m working on:
Getting somewhat organized for the school year. I think because everything is just so different I’ve kind of put off thinking about school and preparing for it. But the remote learning days this year are more demanding than they were in the spring, and I should probably have some kind of “system” in place. Because it all starts this week. 😂
What I’m dreading:
The election season. The commercials, the calls, the flyers- I just really don’t like all the nastiness and bickering that it seems to bring about.
What I’m excited about:
Getting a few hours a couple days a week with just this girl again. I think she’s excited about it too 😂 (and yes, this is a “normal” get up for Tessa). 🤷🏽♀️
What I’m watching/reading:
I’m still working on this book. Maybe the school year will bring more opportunities for organizing. 😏
And guess what we’re STILL watching? NCIS. That show goes on foreverrrrrrr.
What I’m listening to:
The kids love this song and sing it every time we go to the river. Except Tessa says “bow to the river” instead of “down to the river”.
What I’m wearing:
This lip gloss. I love the color, I love the little bit of shimmer, and I love how it stays on for awhile.
What I’m looking forward to next month:
My front porch was pretty boring this summer….and although I do not want summer to end, I wouldn’t mind getting some white pumpkins and mums out there to spruce it up a little.

Your brinner looks delicious! I haven’t given any thought to our new school year either… well, I mean I have but I keep putting off buying SUPPLIES or planning since I really do wonder how it will all play out.
