Andrea at Momfessionals shared her family’s back to school tradition of having brinner the night before, and I thought it was such a great idea. Usually we have a “family fun day” before school starts, and do a day with fun activities (things like the children’s museum, mini golf, go carts, etc)…but this year with Covid and the 95 degree heat, we decided to have family fun day at home with the refreshing pool and river to entertain us. And we also had a back-to-school brinner. It was sweet and simple, and the kids LOVED it. We had all their favorites: homemade cinnamon rolls, scrambled eggs and sausage, bacon, and fruit. School mornings are usually a rush around here, and breakfast is pretty simple. This way we could enjoy some favorite breakfast foods and back-to-school conversation without needing to rush out the door.We talked about what they are excited about for the school year, and then prayed for the year ahead. So no matter what happens during this crazy year, we know who is always in control.
