Our pool house has a bathroom, which is super convenient. I haven’t done much in there, however, apart from asking Ben to paint the walls last year. He has the shakiest hands ever, so I don’t let him cut in, because it would look like one of the kids did it. Well, a year came and went and I never got around to cutting in. With the upcoming wedding reception, however, I decided it was time to finally finish off this sad looking space. Except, instead of cutting in, I decided to do something totally different. And slightly more time consuming. I added shiplap. I went the easy route, and used these painted wall planks, so I just had to put them on the wall and give them a coat of paint. With every project, however, it always ends up taking longer than anticipated. But it was well worth it.
I do have something much more fun planned (courtesy of my talented sister-in-law, Beth) to put on that wall instead of those little frames, but the frames work for now. This bathroom gets a lot of use in the warmer months, and it’s nice to finally have it looking pretty. I’m going to be sad when fall comes and we have to close this bathroom up. Maybe I’ll shiplap a bathroom IN the house during the winter months….
