Tessa’s Room {Sneak Peek}

When I was pregnant, I didn’t like to find out the gender of my baby.  I absolutely loved the surprise at the very end, and I didn’t mind waiting to buy all the pink or blue things until after the baby arrived.  I decided to paint the nursery a neutral color, so I could just switch out the decor as needed.

12 years ago, there wasn’t Pinterest or Instagram to go to for ideas, and the whole “neutral walls” thing hadn’t happened yet (or maybe it had and I totally missed the memo).  So naturally I went with green. 🤦🏽‍♀️

I stuck with it until the very end- each and every baby was in this green striped room with the espresso crib and baby changing system.

It was finally time to say goodbye to this room after 12 years.  I was a little sad to see the crib go, as I had spent a lot of time patting bottoms in there, being greeted by a smiling face from in there, picking up and soothing a crying baby from there, and watching little bodies go from looking so tiny to looking so big.  So many sweet memories.

But not enough to make me want to keep the green walls and espresso baby furniture.

I still need to put on the trim and baseboards, finish up the bathroom, and add the rest of the decor, but here’s a sneak peek of Tessa’s new and improved “big girl” room…Even though the room isn’t finished, I’ve already decided that this sign is my favorite part: Hopefully the rest will be wrapped up this week.  She’s loving it so far- in fact, all the kids are now requesting bedroom re-do’s.😬 #nothappening
