I didn’t have any huge plans for my birthday this year- just a chill day with my people. But then at 10:30 Sunday night as Ben and I were watching a show, there was a loud knock on our front door. Our door is all glass- and I didn’t even want to turn around to see what kind of riffraff was pounding on our door late at night. Turns out, the riffraff was none other than my mom and sister, who flew out to surprise me for my birthday. And I was completely surprised. In fact, we had a snow day on Sunday and Ben hadn’t even gone outside to shovel the sidewalk or plow the driveway yet. I can’t believe they actually made it to the front door. I’m also super thankful I decided to wear mismatched pajamas that evening.

The kids had off on Monday, and we had been planning on doing something fun with them. Grammy loves winning tickets at Chuck E Cheese, so we figured that would be a good time for everyone.😏
After cashing in 3,000 tickets for two pint sized stuffed pizza slices, we headed to lunch.

We had started a puzzle during the snowy/bitterly cold days and these two just couldn’t stay away from it
But we finished it, so that was satisfying. 
On my birthday we headed out to lunch where we accidentally got trapped in the coffee house while Jill Biden was speaking (we had no idea she was coming…or that she was speaking). In order to leave, we had to walk through the kitchen and right behind Dr. Biden while cameras were pointed at us. So if you see three females frantically trying to exit a coffee house on CNN, it’s us. 
That evening, I had cooks in the kitchen 
and a maid tackling my 3 foot high pile of ironing. It was amazing.
8 little hands helped Dad put the finishing touches on my cake. 
There were a lot of sweet homemade presents from this crew, and lots of laughter. 
And the fact that I was able to spend my day with these two made it so much sweeter. 38 is off to a great start already. ❤️
