Grace is 6

Since Grace’s birthday was so close to our time in NJ, we decided to celebrate a few days early with her cousins.  Her favorite store on the Ocean City boardwalk is called Bad Kitty, and it’s a little girl’s wonderland.  Grace also decided that it was a perfect opportunity to wear her new kitty mask. Their first activity was to pick a stuffed animal, make a collar for it, and put it in a pink pet carrier. (Tess was feeling pretty grumpy on this day, and I didn’t want her ruining Grace’s special time…so she hung out with Ben. But MacKenzie was loving all the girly activities!)

Next the girls each picked a feather to put in their hair.

This was followed by glitter tattoos.  4 out of 5 girls went with girly things…mermaids, unicorns, paw prints.  And then MacKenzie decided to change it up and get a spider.😂

 

Their final activity was making a glitter bottle necklace.

Stuffed animals, glittery tattoos, kitty ears, sparkly necklaces and fancy feather hair pieces with your cousins….what more could want when you’re 6?

We headed back to the shore house to open presents,and then finished the night off with ice cream (and a tea light candle).  It was a fun day! 

Her actual birthday was Tuesday and she couldn’t wait to celebrate at school.

She decided to take unicorn cupcakes to share with her class, and was sure to pick out a few cupcakes that had boy rings so they didn’t have to be stuck with a girly unicorn ring. Tess and I joined her for lunch, which Grace always loves because, in her words: “Then I don’t have to raise my hand to ask for help. You can just do it for me.”

Before she came home I set the table for the birthday dinner of her choice: spaghetti and meatballs.  Girlfriend loves her meatballs.  And chocolate cake too.  After a quick costume change, she was ready to open her presents and then happily scooter around for the rest of the evening.
