On Christmas Eve, we headed to Bonefish with Ben’s family and then back to his parent’s house for presents and dessert.
Boys will be monkeys boys
Tess thoroughly enjoyed the pool table and juke box
and her presents.
We made our big ol gingerbread man when we got home, and chopped off the head for Santa (that’s doesn’t sound barbaric at all).
Unfortunately, Ben and my mom both woke up early Christmas morning with a stomach bug. My poor mom never even made it out of her room the entire day. Ben sat and watched, but felt terrible- and then Claire came down with it shortly after opening her presents.
Not exactly a merry Christmas, but thankfully it only lasted that day.
So I didn’t get many pictures that day as I was trying to watch, and help open, and get breakfast ready (thanks for your help there Cara!) and just enjoy all the craziness around me.
New Year’s Eve was wonderful. No one was sick, we ate outside with a beautiful view, the weather was gorgeous, and we even had an early fireworks show. It was a perfect evening!
Right across the street from the restaurant was a park filled with lights. After dinner we walked over and checked them out while we were waiting for the fireworks.
And of course wound up with some cheap light up toys.
But seriously, this location for fireworks was 👌🏼
And then we headed home to put the kids in bed and get the real party started…
