Do you ever have a day or two that are just downright good for your soul? We need them even more these days, with our world being turned upside down. My entire weekend was filled with soul-filling moments, and I’m so thankful for each and every one.
First up was a date with these big girls. They wore some favorite clothes, chose pretty necklaces, and applied makeup that Grace got for her birthday. We ate at a nice restaurant (with Shirley Temples of course) and then went to see Maddie Poppe’s Christmas concert.
It’s been so long since we’ve seen any kind of show or performance, so this was such a nice treat! And it was very safe: masks everywhere, people opening doors for you, sanitizer every 2 feet, and seats spaced 6 feet apart. You sat in your own “pod” and no one else was close to you. We just sat back and enjoyed the show.
And all the pretty lights.
And in keeping with the Christmas spirit, it was snowing when we came out.
On Saturday I met with some favorite friends at the cutest little coffee shop to do our “favorite things” gift exchange.
Being with these girls is ALWAYS good for my soul.
Usually this Sunday is our annual Sunday School Christmas program at church. But, #Covid. In lieu of that event, we decided to make gift baskets for each of the families in our Sunday school. A big group of us stayed after church and worked together to assemble the baskets. We chatted, we laughed, we smiled through our masks. I’ve so missed our usual church events, and this little effort of working together again felt SO GOOD.
Life is still far from normal, but I pray you can find little moments here and there that fill your soul with joy. ❤️

We will totally pass those leggings down to Lulu! They were Claire and Grace’s and one of my favorite pieces of clothing ever. ❤️
