Day 3 had us pulling into Disney’s island, Castaway Cay, nice and early. The kids slept in, had some breakfast on our balcony, and then got ready for a beach day.
We ran into Jack Sparrow as we were walking off the ship. He was 1,000% in character and cracking us up.
Grace should’ve borrowed Minnie’s sunglasses.
The day started out cloudy and windy, but that didn’t stop the kids from going in the water. The bigger kids and Dads played volleyball to get warmed up first.
Of course Disney provides you with incredible barbecue for lunch. And unlimited ice cream.
The sun came out after lunch, so the bigger kids did the water ropes course.
Naturally, this monkey climbed every rope back and forth multiple times.
Then it was time to head back to the ship to get ready for pirate night.
We had some time before the pirate show, so the little girls all headed to the kids club for a bit. You check them in, they slide directly into the club, and then I get an alert when they are ready to be picked up. There are secret code words and everything.
Since we had time, we thought we’d hang out in a good spot to watch the pirate show, which normally happens on the main deck. Except it was pouring.
We hung out in a covered area and enjoyed watching this guy’s commitment to being in the front row for a show that we were pretty certain was probably going to end up taking place inside.
He was covered in several sopping wet towels.
The show did end up being moved inside, and we still had a great spot.
And then there was our usual wild dinner, with the waiter cutting our food, the little girls indulging in every kind of drink they could think of, magic shows, and incredible balancing acts.
