Scout stayed with super sweet friends while we were in Florida, and although we knew she was having a fantastic time and receiving lots of love, we sure missed her and were happy to be reunited.
(Side note: Tess lost her first front tooth at school last week too. And I wasn’t quite ready for my baby to lose those front baby teeth. One more snaggle tooth to go up there. 😭)
Last week we had a couple snow storms roll through, and the kids ended up only going to school on Monday and Thursday. The first storm brought about 6 inches of snow, and we discovered that Scout LOVES the snow. And yes, she has snow boots that Grammy bought for her as a joke. Except they’re surprisingly useful.
We went sledding and the kids (with the help of Ben) started making an igloo on the deck.
The next storm was more like a blizzard. More snow, but this time with 40 mph winds.
But they still went outside to work on the igloo.
And then things got real cold…as in, -30 cold.
When Iowa turns into an arctic tundra, we get the pleasure of seeing “sun dogs”. Probably not really worth sub zero temperatures, but still cool nonetheless.
