Our family all agrees: the drive to Florida at Christmastime is one of our favorite things. Yes, it’s 20 hours long, but none of us mind being in the car. We go through the night, so the kids all sleep for half the trip anyway. We listen to Christmas music, we enjoy all the Christmas lights, and we happily watch the temperature increase. It’s wonderful.
We arrived Saturday afternoon, took our things to our room and then swam until dark with friends.
We bought Ben and Max tickets to see the Buccaneers/Bengals game for Christmas. Our brother-in-law and nephew were able to go too, so after church on Sunday they all headed straight to the game and had the BEST time. Even without a Bucs win.
Meanwhile, the girls and I got unpacked and kept an eye out for them on tv. Spoiler alert: we didn’t see them. Next time Ben’s going to try dressing like Jack Sparrow to see if they can make the cut.
The next several days looked like this:
