Tessa has been (not so patiently) waiting for her turn to go to school (this was her last week when the other kids started). But yesterday, the day finally came.
Her teacher, Mrs. Landers, taught all of our kids in Pre-K. And she is, without a doubt, the greatest Pre-K teacher that ever lived.
She does home visits before school starts, and leaves the kids with all kinds of things to get them excited for school. This book with the sweet poem and magic confetti to put under their pillow is adorable and Tess loved it.
She woke up the next day like it was Christmas morning.
She picked out her dress and shoes, as well as this subtle back pack.
She confidently walked in that door without any hesitation. She kept telling me that I would be fine, and that I would enjoy the peace and quiet at home. And that she wouldn’t miss me. Thanks, kid…just push that knife in a little further.
I helped her find her hook and her cubby, and walked her to her door. I gave her a kiss and then I started crying, so I thought it best to make a quick escape before I really embarrassed myself. Thank goodness for her sweet teacher posting pictures on SeeSaw all day long. ❤️
When I picked her up, she said it was the most amazing day ever. She told me all kinds of things about her day, even her bathroom situation. She had to demonstrate that one, showing me exactly how she closed her eyes and relaxed to get her poopies out.
Whatever it takes, love.
She passed Grace in the hallway and gave her a high five, and she waved at Max too. And she really didn’t miss me. But it’s fine, I’m fine.
