The weekend before school started Claire and I set up this welcome sign at the school from the PTO. Our new principal (who shares my love for fun decorations) had already booked a sign company to come when I talked to her about doing one, but insisted that we decorate both entrances to the school. When we showed up to set up our sign, the other sign girl was there as well and we chatted away. She gave me all her tips and tricks and I loaned her my bus sign. We had a great time, and she also tried convincing me to start up a sign company because she normally doesn’t service our area. Maybe one day ๐.
The signs were so fun to see when we pulled up for back-to-school conferences.
For our first official day of school, we get to choose conference times for each kid. They are able to find their locker, meet their teacher, and unload all their supplies. It’s wonderful, and counts as a day of school.
Aunt Julia sent us a box filled with fantastic back-to-school goodies (as well as some fun things, like woopie cushions๐) which helped the kids feel more excited about school starting.

Instead of a smiley face, Tess has an actual grade on her tag this year. ๐ญ
We put together a few essentials for their teachers and got ready for bed while it was still light out.
We were up and at em early the next morning, and there were a couple nervous belly aches as we got ready for…
8th grade (๐ฑ nervous, but excited her friends are in all her classes)
6th grade (not nervous and also not excited)
and 2nd grade (pretty nervous, but also pretty excited).
And the last kid, who was not happy that Pre-K doesn’t start until next week.
We got everyone dropped off and then Tess and I headed back home for a bit before coming back to the school for her conference.
I really just can’t even believe she’s going to school. I’ve met with her teacher, the principal, the nurse, and the PE teacher to talk about her needs at school, and everything is ready for her. Everything but her momma. ๐
