Today is going to be a stressful day. I don’t want to watch the news, but how can I not watch the news? SO. MUCH. ANXIETY. Maybe I’ll just sit in my closet and think about the fun Halloween we had instead. Because Covid has sure ruined a lot of things, but my kids declared this to be “the best Halloween ever.”
Our church held it’s first annual Trunk or Treat, and our car was jam packed with candy, decor, costumes, apple cider, donuts, and a popcorn machine. The day was bright and sunny….with 25 mph winds. ๐ So while we couldn’t decorate exactly how we wanted (you know me and balloons- every event needs them. But balloons + high winds just don’t go together) we still managed to pull off some cute trunks.
We had about a hundred kids show up for games, prizes, and snacks, and several families asked us to do it again next year. I’m in!
From there, the little girls changed costumes and we headed out to meet up with friends for trick or treating.
Max and his friends randomly decided to be pigeons this year. We have no idea why, but they did look really funny.
Claire and her friends were all animals- although technically, Claire was Panda from Dude Perfect.
Then there was the pink poodle and Elsa,
and finally, Rocky. And yes, people thought she was a boy and kept calling her “buddy”.
It was such a beautiful night, and for once we weren’t freezing while trick or treating.
We bumped into friends,
and occasionally hitched a ride on a golf cart.
And then came home to sort/trade all the goods.
We finished off the night with Curious George’s Boo Fest (because we’ve been doing that since Claire was little) and crashed in our beds from the busy, fun day. It was perfect.๐๐

What a fun filled day! Kind of perfect that Halloween landed on a Saturday this year.
The pigeons will never not be funny.
