One week ago we returned from a quick girls trip to NJ. I had been wanting to visit my nephew again, and celebrate my sister’s birthday with her, so we decided to meet up in NJ. My sister-in-law was celebrating her 40th birthday, so this way we were able to get in on that celebration as well.
Airport travel is weird these days, but I didn’t feel worried at all. And I love that they hand out cleaning wipes as you board the aircraft, because even though it was thoroughly cleaned beforehand, I’m still gonna wipe those seats/armrests/traytables/buckles/windows myself.
We hadn’t seen Grayson (in person) since he was a week old, and we were loving getting to see him smile and talk! He also thought watching the girls was pretty entertaining.
We started out Kel’s birthday by grabbing coffee and donuts at one of our favorite places.
Next we shopped on the boardwalk, hung out, did some school work, and enjoyed Grayson.
We headed back up to the boardwalk to eat at our favorite restaurant
followed by some rides.
Grayson woke up from his nap to a million lights and sounds blaring above him.
But he was totally cool with it.
Then we headed back to the condo for cake, aka: the best part of a birthday.
On Saturday we did a little shopping downtown,
and then surprised a special cousin by showing up at her soccer game.
The girls had all made signs for Addie, and Tessa was particularly proud of her creation.
After the game we headed back down to the shore to spend some time with my cousin who happened to be in Jersey the same time as me! She’s in Texas and I’m in Iowa, so we were excited to finally both be back home at the same time. There was a lot of catching up, a lot of reminiscing, and A LOT of laughter.

After a cousin sleepover party that night, we went to celebrate my sister-in-law’s 40th birthday.
Marissa really is forty and fabulous and we had a great time celebrating her!
We then spent some time with my Nana and Gibby, before hopping on a plane early the next morning.
There were a lot of sad people heading home because we seriously had the best time, but we’re already looking forward to being together again soon!
Best trip ever! We sure packed a lot in to those few days, as always, but I wouldn’t have it any other way. Was surprisingly so relaxing for me. Miss you guysssss!
Agree! As I was writing this I realized how busy we were, but it really didn’t feel like it. Because it was so fun, that’s why. 😏
