After Tessa’s room got a re-do, the other kids started thinking their rooms needed one too. 🤦🏽♀️ Tessa’s was very labor-intensive, which I’m not about to do to everybody’s bedrooms right now, but Grace’s room was in need of a little updating. I painted that room when Claire was 2 (almost 10 years ago)- and there were a lot of spots that needed to be repainted. The most desperate wall was right behind her bed, so I decided to start with an accent wall there.
I grabbed 6 “colors to go” from Sherwin Williams. Actually, I didn’t grab them- I called ahead and picked them up curbside- but that’s besides the point. Strange times, y’all. Here are the colors I went with:
I divided the height of the room by 6, and then made marks for where each section would be with a pencil. Then I put painter’s tape on the pencil marks.
I cut in the top and sides with the first color, and then rolled it, being sure not to go past the tape. I then trimmed and rolled the second and third colors, leaving a space between each color.
To blend the colors together, I rolled a fresh coat of paint from the top color into the empty space, and then did the same with the bottom color. Then I took a cheap, disposable brush and used a back and forth motion between the two colors of wet paint to blend the colors in the middle.
It turned out exactly how I had hoped, and was really fun to do. And Grace is loving it.
I mean, how can you not love these happy spring colors?
And that wall fits this girl’s personality PERFECTLY.
Looks great and perfect for GG❣️
Thanks momma.😘
Love the colors! It will be her “HAPPY PLACE”!
For sure!
That’s amazing! Great job!
Thanks so much!
This wall is PERFECTION! I love how well it goes with her bedding too. She looks beyond thrilled!
Her bedding has the best colors- so I just matched them with samples online (and prayed that they would all go together).
So
Perfect !!!
