We had a fun-filled weekend that ended with a perfectly cozy, snowy afternoon.
The kids didn’t have school on Friday, so we took a little day trip to the Mall of America (more on that tomorrow). Saturday morning was a winter wonderland- the branches of the trees were all covered in snow and it looked beautiful. Unfortunately it was still only -9. 😑
Grace had her first day of basketball at 8 am on Saturday. My hair was still damp from the shower and froze when I walked in to drop her off.
After basketball we headed to Claire’s horse lesson. Thankfully the temperature had increased to +9 by that point. And my hair was dry.
We grabbed lunch and headed back home so Claire could gear up for her second favorite activity:
Everyone said it felt a lot nicer playing hockey in this weather than the previous two weeks when it was around -17.
Meanwhile, these two explored the backyard while eating icicles.
Saturday evening’s entertainment involved watching the cats chase the laser pointer in the front yard. We’re exciting like that.
On Sunday we headed to church in the morning, and then spent the rest of the day watching the snow pile up outside while enjoying a warm fire inside. Although with four active children, it’s not exactly as peaceful as it sounds.

Love that G is playing basketball! Four active children indeed 😂 Nothing beats a cozy fire while it snows outside, however
