As most of you know, we are big Dude Perfect fans. After seeing this video (multiple times) of the dudes at the Bass Pro Shop/Big Cypress Lodge in Memphis, our kids have talked about how fun it would be to go there. When we looked it up, we realized it would actually make a perfect pit-stop on our way to Florida for Christmas.
We checked out our rooms, marveled at the sights, and then headed to one of the restaurants
where the kids were happily entertained by some active fish.
Next we headed into the store to look around for a bit.
We also found a lot more fish to watch.
We played games,
and found places we saw in the Dude Perfect video.
Then we took a ride up the big elevator to the lookout.
The next morning we enjoyed breakfast on our balcony.
(Side note, outside light doesn’t get into the pyramid and the hotel rooms are equipped with black out curtains. Basically you could hibernate here.)
We got dressed and then headed down to the store to watch the fish feeding demonstration in the huge fish tank.
We walked around the store some more, bought a lot of fudge, waved at Santa, and then headed to the bowling alley.
Then we decided to head back up to the lookout to see the views during the day.
We spent some time in the coziest game room
before heading back up the big elevator again to eat at the restaurant up there. That restaurant got 5/5 for views, but sadly only a 2/5 for food.
But we really did enjoy the sunset and nighttime views. The bridge over the Mississippi puts on the coolest light display!
The next morning we were up early to continue to our journey to Florida.
Even though we couldn’t do crazy trick shots or race the cooler scooters, we still had a great time at Big Cypress Lodge!

If you ever head back through Memphis you must make a pitstop at Graceland Guesthouse … it is a beautiful hotel and it is so close to Graceland. I stayed there when running the St. Jude Memphis Marathon. Hope to make it back there one day! <3
