I’m not entirely sure where the last 7 years have gone, but here we are.
Tessa has been really into chickens the last several months, and requested a chicken birthday party.
So naturally, I set out to find a way to have real chicks at her party.
Thanks to the friend of a friend, we scored an incubator and some fertilized eggs, and better yet, she was willing to take the chicks back when we were finished with them! Because I most definitely have no desire to own chickens.
Last Sunday morning (3 days before Tessa’s party) I thought I heard a tiny chirp coming from the dining room, and to our surprise there was a chick standing up in the incubator! Another chick was busy pecking her way out of an egg, so we were able to witness it.
It’s a pretty amazing process how this little animal is able to peck it’s way out of an egg. Before we knew it, we had six fluffy little chicks.
They received a lot of love, especially because we had cousins visiting!
They were the perfect size for Tessa’s birthday party, even though they did have a few accidents on people’s hands. 💩
Friends and family, baby chicks, bounce houses, cake, presents, and swimming….Tess loved it all.
