Claire has been asking for a puppy for many, many years now. But I know the responsibility of said puppy will mostly fall on me, and I just haven’t felt ready to commit to taking care of a dog yet. But she’s researched all the breeds and all the dog things and decided maybe a cavachon was the dog for her if when the day comes. My friend Heather just got a cavachon puppy a few months ago, so we offered to dog sit him while they were away. Claire could NOT wait for that week to arrive.
Everyone was pretty excited to have Finn in our home. Well, maybe everyone except our outdoor cats. They weren’t exactly big fans.
Finn is the most photogenic dog…he seriously looks cute all the time.
The kids did all kinds of things with him, including playing Uno and watching the crop duster on the deck.
He really is such a good puppy and we loved having him for the week! But his favorite person, and the person who loved him the most, was definitely Claire. He could sniff out the true dog lover in our house.
It was the perfect little trial run for our kids to realize just how much work dogs can be. Even good dogs like Finn still require a lot of work! So now at least Claire (somewhat) understands why I haven’t jumped on the dog train just yet. 😏 In the meantime, if you need a dog sitter Claire’s definitely your girl.
