Flying High on the 4th of July

My mom has talked about going parasailing for years. She’s not a thrill seeker (the kiddie roller coasters are about all the thrill she can handle) but thought parasailing looked like something she might enjoy.  We decided this was the year.

Unfortunately, the boat could only take 12 passengers, so Ben offered to stay home with Tess.  As soon as she’s old enough, however, I’m sure she’ll be parasailing too.  We went with FlyOCNJ, and they were fantastic. We thought it was probably a good idea to make my mom go first so she couldn’t change her mind. Was she terrified?  Yep.  She held onto the straps for dear life, but also said it was very peaceful up there.  Grace loved every second. My dad, on the other hand, IS the thrill seeker. He decided it was his mission to try and soak himself, Max, and my brother, and if he was really lucky- flip everyone around in their harnesses. Norah wasn’t entirely sure about the whole situation, but was willing to do it anyway! Judging by that smile, I think she had a good time.  😏Claire has been wanting to parasail for years, and was obviously not nervous at all. #lookmanohandsAddie was determined to touch that water. She made it.

This was such a fun way to start our 4th of July, and we loved seeing Ocean City from above! Here’s a short video my brother made while he was in the air:Tess had a pretty fun morning with Ben- bike ride, souvenir, and monkey bread.  She wasn’t complaining. Next we headed to the beach.  A couple had ordered 500 American flags and were handing them out to all the beachgoers so we could decorate our beach.  It looked beautiful!

 

After a full day, we ate at the house, did some patriotic nails, and had fun with glow sticks and sparklers.  

Since the city cancelled their fireworks show, my brother decided to do his own.

And thankfully, no one got arrested.  🇺🇸
