Friday was the last day of school for us. If you would have told me that we would be finishing the year homeschooling while in quarantine I would have said you were crazy. Yet here we are. I’m thankful for the technology we have which allowed the kids to keep in touch with teachers and friends, but it still wasn’t the same. While I really did enjoy homeschooling, all of us are definitely ready for a break. These past few months have been a lot to handle at times, and we’re ready for the easy days of summer. I always take a picture of the kids on the first and last day right before we head to school, and this year was no different-except perhaps, their “school clothes” on the last day. 😉
Claire loved her teacher, Miss Tupper. She had a great year in 6th grade, and is actually headed to middle school next year..which I can’t even believe. More on that will be coming in another post. 😉
Max had Mr. Black for 4th grade this year. He was so excited to finally have a male teacher, and Mr. Black was awesome. He was full of energy, an out-of-the-box teacher, and he truly cared about his students. Max doesn’t love schoolwork, but he did love Mr. Black.
Grace had Mrs. Hansen, who was also Max’s kindergarten teacher. Grace loved Mrs. Hansen and Mrs. Hansen’s classroom bunny, Penelope. She loved going to school, worked hard, and had so much fun with her friends.
I can never get over how much they grow during the school year. 😭😭
We finished up a few remaining assignments for school, and then enjoyed the beautiful weather. There was a treehouse picnic, some bouncing, planting the garden (along with some target practice), and a boat ride with popsicles and cow sightings.
It was a far-from-normal last day of school, but we sure made the most of it and it will be a day we’ll never forget.

They were all just a BIT excited to be eating in the treehouse. 😉
