I am a list person. If I go into a store without a list, I will come out with nothing that I intended to get. Nothing. I also don’t care if I only have one thing to accomplish in a day- I will still write that one thing down just so I can cross it off when it’s finished. I have also been known to write something down just so I can have the satisfaction of crossing it off. Hi, my name is Jill and I’m an excessive list-maker.
With the kids homeschooling, I have been making lists of what subjects they need to finish for that day. We still only do school on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday- so I write down what they need to finish for that day and they love being able to cross things off. This way they know what I’m expecting them to finish that morning, and it helps me keep track of what each kid needs to be working on. I’ve been trying to keep it interesting, however, and making the list look different each time.
Sometimes I print it off with funny memes. The kids think memes are the funniest things in the world.Sometimes I use this little chalkboard and sit it on the counter. Sometimes I write it on a big sheet of butcher paper.
I have also used sticky notes, our big chalkboard wall, window markers, and paper rings. Any simple, fun way to let them know what they are expected to do that day and allow them the satisfaction of crossing things off. And apparently my oldest daughter is taking after me when it comes to making lists. 😉

Love the fun lists! I find it more likely that i’ll accomplish tasks if i write them down.

Isn’t that so cute? And then she asked me if I thought she got the job done. 😉
