How’s it going for you this week on the quarantine roller coaster of emotions? This morning involved a gigantic spill at breakfast followed by lots of crying because it ruined her favorite shirt, which was then accompanied by a second, smaller spill and then some groaning about math work. All before 9:30 am. Just another day-in-that-quarantine-life around here. So, let’s pause a minute and think about the good, shall we?
1. COFFEE.This little cup of joy is the perfect thing in the morning. And midmorning. And afternoon. Anytime, really.
2. BIG SISTERS.
Claire is an amazing big sister. She really does love to play with her siblings (but occasionally wants some quiet time too…don’t we all?), and always wants to help them. Which is a help to me.
3. HOME MOVIES.
We’ve been watching old home movies lately from when Claire and Max were little and they’re giving me all the feels. What I don’t understand is how that little baby boy is turning 10 next week. What even in the world. I keep asking him what he wants for his 9th birthday, because he’s staying 9 forever.
4. LEGOS.The kids have been creating things nonstop with legos. I love to see their creativity and pride when they tell me about what they made. I also love how they’re so calm and quiet when they’re in Legoland.
5. MY MIL. Normally during this time of the year, my mother-in-law and I take turns running dinner out to the guys working in the field. But with all that’s going on, I just didn’t feel like I could also throw that in the mix, especially because 2 of the kids have zoom meetings right at that time. My MIL has graciously accepted the challenge of feeding the guys each night, and I’m so thankful for that. It’s definitely helping with my sanity, so really- we’re all winning here.
Ok, let me know the GOOD you’ve enjoyed this week. 😊

So thankful I can help! Thankful it gets me out of the house and to some wide open spaces. Thankful for the guys not getting upset when I have to call them and ask, “now just where is that farm again?”!!

They’re very understanding, that’s for sure!

10?! That’s not even possible!
Claire is CERTAINLY one of the BEST big sisters ever, she must get it from you 😉
Mentally, this week was a little more tough for me.
But! our front porch project is wrapping up and will be finished off with a beautiful swinging bench which I plan to spend much of my summer on.
We salvaged some nice shrubs that someone dumped at a local athletic field – score! Anything to help our poor yard.
If it weren’t for a pandemic, I’d be sending my little tenant an eviction notice, but still so thankful for his health and every kick, even if they are getting stronger by the day <3

You’re the sweetest. 😘😘 Hang in there, June will be here before you know it! I cannot wait to snuggle baby boy on the porch swing. 💙 And don’t evict him just yet. 😂
