Our plans for this day included checking out the sand dunes, but we changed those plans quickly when our gps revealed a 2 hour drive to travel 25 miles.
Ain’t nobody got time for that.
So we turned around and decided to climb up this lighthouse instead. Was there a heat warning in effect? Yeah. Did someone pass out at the top of the lighthouse right before we went up? Sure did. But that’s par for our family vacations.
My heights-challenged brother Josh was up here somewhere too, desperately trying to maintain his composure and stay away from people and the railing. 
We felt that we all deserved a treat for climbing all those stairs, so we stopped for ice cream and souvenirs.
Then it was time to cool off in the pool
and cheer on the Indiana Fever, who pulled off a win.
We cleaned up after dinner and had some family pictures done with the sweetest and silliest photographer.
We really had an absolutely fantastic week together, and made memories to last a lifetime. I wouldn’t trade this group of crazies for anything.
