Our last meal on the Wish was breakfast Friday morning, and no one was ready to leave.
We honestly could not have asked for better waiters- they were so kind, so funny, and so great with the kids and we may or may not have invited them and their families to spend Christmas with us.
We had such a fantastic time, and are so thankful for the memories we made on that ship.
Our flight home was the following morning, so we decided to head to Disney World for one last hurrah before heading home.
My parents had a couple hours before they flew home, and Ben’s parents drove over from their house in Indian Rocks beach, so we all enjoyed some pool time together. It was a HOT day! We stayed at Disney’s Yacht club resort for a couple of reasons: it’s pet friendly (my parents were watching Scout for us in Florida, remember?), and it’s within walking distance to Epcot.
I’ve read/heard from so many people that the Guardians of the Galaxy ride at Epcot is the best ride in Disney world. We decided we needed to check it out for ourselves to see if the rumors were true.
But first, we road Soarin Around the World and had an early dinner with Grandpa and Grandma.
Poor Grandpa forgot to wear socks and was developing blisters on his feet, so they headed out after dinner. Disney is not a great place to walk around without socks.
We headed to a couple more rides. Grace holding onto her bun is my favorite.
It was a perfect day to walk around Moana’s water area, especially with Tessa’s latest obsession with all things Moana.
Then it was time to head over to Guardians.
Even while standing in line a guy told us it was hands down the best ride in Disney.
It was a fantastic ride. Unfortunately for Ben and I, we are old and can’t handle spinny rides very well anymore….and this ride SPINS. Would I ride it again though? Absolutely. 3 out of 4 kids have now declared this as their favorite ride, and Claire thinks it’s tied for first with Tron.
The little girls and I were beat, so we headed back to the hotel to wash up and watch the fireworks from there. Ben and the bigger kids stayed to watch the light show in person, and kindly recorded all 16 minutes of it for us to watch later.
We were up and at em around 4 am the next morning to fly back home, with suitcases full of dirty laundry, and hearts full of fun memories made with friends and family.
