Exactly one year ago today, Tessa had her first big surgery. I wrote about it here if you’re like me and want to head down memory lane for a bit. 😉 The surgery was just the first part of a long, tiring, three month journey of trying to control her lymphatic leaks (part of that saga is written here). She handled the whole ordeal like the champ she is, and we’re so thankful that first one is now in our rearview mirror. Her incisions look great, the area does not appear to be growing back, and she is as energetic and wild as ever. In fact, she’s probably a little too wild and has recently caused some slight trauma/internal bleeding in her malformation. 🤦🏽♀️ I’d love to cover that girl in bubble wrap.
Favorite kid quote:
Tessa, thinking about her surgical drains (aka “tubies”): “I kinda miss my tubies. They were my little pets. Remember when I carried them around like babies?” Yes, yes I do.
Favorite clothing item:
Tessa’s fanny pack was a lifesaver. She wore that thing every single day for three months and it effectively kept her drains safely in their locations.
Favorite verse:
“Now may the God of peace who brought up our Lord Jesus from the dead, that great Shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant, make you complete in every good work to do His will, working in you what is well pleasing in HIs sight, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory forever and ever.” Hebrews 13:20-21
Favorite moment:
Watching her living life to the fullest right now. I don’t take these moments for granted!
Favorite meme:
Me every time I had to take Tessa for a Covid test before each procedure. I apologize for that nurses.
